How to style a co-ord set, together and apart
3 min read
Why co-ords are useful
A co-ord set is a matching top and bottom. Worn together it looks put-together with no effort. Worn apart, each piece works with the rest of your wardrobe, so one set gives you at least three outfits.
Wearing it as a set
Break up a busy print with plain accessories: a solid belt, simple sandals and one piece of jewellery. For work, add a blazer or a longline shrug. For an evening out, change to heels and bolder earrings.
Splitting the pieces
Wear the printed shirt open over a plain tank top and jeans, or tucked into plain trousers. Pair the printed trousers with a white shirt or a solid kurti. The rule that works most often is one printed piece and one plain piece.
Fit and fabric
Relaxed co-ords should skim the body, not hang off it; check the shoulder seam and the trouser length. Rayon and cotton are comfortable for daily wear. Satin looks dressier but shows creases and water marks.
